The audit trail
Every approval flow keeps evidence you can stand behind later.
What is recorded
For each signer, the flow page shows:
- Viewed: when they first opened their signing page.
- Action: approved or rejected, with the exact timestamp.
- IP address at the time of action.
- The signature itself: the typed name rendered as a signature, or the drawn signature image.
- Comment, if they left one.
The flow's overall status (Pending, Approved, Rejected) is derived from the steps, so the record and the reality cannot drift apart.
Where to find it
Work > Approvals, then Audit trail on any flow. The chain view on the list page gives you the one-line version: who has signed, who is next.
Practical notes
- Rejections preserve the trail: you can always show what was rejected, when and why.
- For legal-weight signatures across jurisdictions, check your local e-signature requirements (eIDAS, ESIGN); the trail gives you the who/when/what evidence those frameworks expect.
