Send and receive email inside tasks
Email a client from the task itself, and their reply threads back into the task comments. The whole conversation stays attached to the work.
Sending
- Open the task and select Send email from this task (under the title).
- The To field prefills with the project's client; change it to anyone.
- Write and send. The email is logged as a task comment so the team sees what was said.
How replies come back
Outgoing subjects carry a small token like [VT-138-a1b2c3d4]. When the recipient replies, the support mailbox recognizes the token and posts the reply as a comment on that exact task, labeled with the sender.
Trust and safety
- Tokens are signed per task; a guessed or forged token is rejected.
- Replies only thread from the connected mailbox, so nothing enters your workspace that did not come through your own inbox.
Requirements
SMTP must be configured to send; the support IMAP mailbox must be connected to receive replies. See SMTP and IMAP configuration.
