Projects and milestones
A project bundles everything about one piece of work: tasks, members, milestones, files, discussions, time logs, expenses and budget.
Creating a project
Go to Work > Projects > Add Project. Set the name, dates, client (optional) and members. Members see the project in their workspace; the client sees it in their portal.
Milestones
Milestones group tasks into phases with their own dates and progress. Use them for releases, sprints or contract phases. The project progress bar rolls up from tasks and milestones automatically.
Views
Every project offers the same tasks in multiple views: List for triage, Board for flow, Calendar for scheduling and Gantt for the timeline. Dragging a task in Gantt moves its dates; if other tasks depend on it, the whole chain shifts (see Dependencies).
Budget and profitability
Set a project budget and track hours logged and expenses against it while the work is running. Hours come from task timers; expenses from the Finance module.
Files and discussions
The Files tab holds project documents; image files support proofing with pinned comments. Discussions keep long-running project conversation out of task comments.
Tips
- Use project templates when you deliver the same shape of work repeatedly.
- The activity feed filtered by project is the fastest way to catch up after a few days away.
